FAQs

What do you need from a client to get started?

At least one high resolution photo of your subject in good lighting. This is especially true for portraits of people. I cannot make up what I can't see, and the more reference photos provided, the better. For the best likeness, a photo at 300 dpi is recommended with a clear view of all facial features. If I can take a photo of a subject in person, that is the number one preferred method.

How long does a piece take to produce?

For watercolors and pastels up to 11x14 in size, the production time is approximately 2 weeks, but can be completed much faster depending on my workload. Oil paintings can take up to six weeks depending on size and drying time.

Do you negotiate pricing?

Pricing is firm and is based on skill level and time of production.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! I offer a $25 discount to repeat buyers and referral discounts.

Do you ship artwork?

Yes, I use USPS priority shipping for flat artwork on paper and I offer free shipping for these pieces. For larger oil paintings, I ship via UPS - please inquire for rates at the time of purchase. I ship only to the lower 48 at this time.

How do I care for my finished piece?

For watercolors and oil paintings, display out of direct sunlight to avoid color bleaching. For oil paintings, a varnish is recommended after six months of drying time to bring out the richness of the colors. This can be applied by you or by a professional at a frame shop.
